 Phong Nha Cave is a cave in the limestone mountains of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. Quang Binh is an attractive and famous destination. The cave has been used for tourism activities since 1991. Tourists, after going upstream of the Son River, visit Phong Nha Cave, which has a magnificent system of stalactites with seven outstanding characteristics. Here, visitors can choose from two Phong Nha tours: Phong Nha Cave 1,200m tour and the Son Ho 4,500 m tour.

II.Where is Phong Nha Cave? 

Located in Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, about 45 kilometers northwest of Dong Hoi city, Phong Nha Cave is located in Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. From Dong Hoi to Phong Nha, visitors will be walking on the legendary Truong Son road. After arriving at the Phong Nha tourist center, tourists follow the Son River to visit Phong Nha. Considered the "Thien Nam First Cave" of Vietnam, sheltered by tropical forests. It is the first point to be put into operation to serve tourists in Phong Nha Ke Bang.

According to scientists, the process of weathering to form caves in Phong Nha is a natural process that took place 250 million years ago. The main topography of Phong Nha-Ke Bang is limestone and dirt mountains. The average height is 600 meters, the wall is narrow, and the wall is vertical. Phong Nha Cave is located in the southeast part of the Ke Bang limestone massif. In a strongly weathered limestone area, an area of about 10,000 km2, extending for 200 km in the north of the Truong Son range, through to Laos. In this limestone massif, there is a phenomenon of underground water.

 With a length of 7,729m, a depth of 83 m, and a height of 50 m, with many small and large side branches. Including Bi Ky cave, Tien cave, and Cung Dinh cave. This is a type of water cave that flows underground in the mountain bed and has many typical stalactites. Legend has it that the stalagmites hanging down at the mouth of the cave contributed to the poetic name "Phong Nha", which means "wind through the teeth". The name Phong Nha also originates from here. Phong Nha stalactites are considered beautiful and took millions of years to form.

The feeling of entering the wonderland: "Lion", "Unicorn", "No Adoration,", "Palace," or "Buddha Statue." After about 19 kilometers, it flows underground under the Truong Son range. The river appears at the mouth of the cave with a blue color in the dry season. And especially the red color of alluvium in the rainy season. Visitors can also explore the formation of stalagmites and stalactites in some of the 14 rooms inside the cave. Inside about 1 km is Bi Ky Cave, a side branch located deep in the cave about 600m from the cave entrance. It is believed that at some point between the 9th and 11th centuries, the Cham people chose this place as a place of worship.
